Points of Emphasis:
- Recruit Eligible Gold Star family members.
- Honor all Gold Star Members annually and at all Unit events.
- Send “Thinking of You” cards to honor the date of their loved one’s loss.
- In many cases, they are the cement that holds our Units and our American Legion Auxiliary organization
- Nominate a Gold Star Member of the Year candidate from your Unit.
Department Award
- STARR’S HEARTWARMERS GOLD STAR MEMBER OF THE YEAR PLAQUE: to the member selected as the Department Gold Star Member of the Year.
Personal Awards
- $10 to be given to the Unit chairman submitting the best report.
- $10 Award to be given to the person submitting the best Gold Star Poem to Department Chairman by May 1, 2027.
